Chemical Properties

Orange-red powder. Insoluble in acetone, ethanol, chloroform, toluene,

slightly soluble in pyridine, o-chlorophenol. In concentrated sulfuric acid

was dark red light yellow liquid in alkaline hydrosulfite also in olive

colored (with red fluorescence) in acidic solution was red brown.

Use

Brilliant Orange GR reduction for cotton dyeing and printing cotton, also

suitable for dyeing polyvinyl alcohol, nylon and polyester, cotton fabric

dimensions. Also used in the manufacture of organic pigments.

Production methods

To 1,4,5,8 - naphthalene carboxylic acid and o-phenylenediamine 4 as raw

materials, condensation in acetic acid medium, after separation of the

product obtained after purification. . Cis-isomer and trans isomer mixture shall restore the Red GG

(CIVat Red 14), After separation, the cis-isomer shall restore the Claret

2R (CIVat Red 15); trans-isomer shall restore the Orange GR

(CIVat Orange 7). In the reactor by adding 1 naphthalene 4 acid, o-phenylenediamine were

0.9 and 7.5 were acetic acid, heated to 115 ℃, 5h back after steaming to

acetic acid. Then add hot water, boiled at 9030min, filter, filter cake

with hot water to neutral. At below 100drying, reducing red GG.

To the reduction of red GG obtained in ethanol solution of sodium

hydroxide for two separate heating, by reducing, respectively, and restore

the Claret Brilliant Orange GR 2R.
